Created specifically to make solid objects appear to float in mid-air, this cunning little optical illusion will keep you poking your finger into empty space.

How does it work?

Place an object in the centre of the chamber, (pennies work well). Light hitting the object is reflected in the mirrors on the inside of the chamber over and over. The chamber is made of two shallow dishes with mirrors on the inside, and it is the two curved surfaces close together that create all the reflections. The hole in the top of the chamber allows the light to escape, and the reflected light appears to us as if it was coming from a solid object floating in the centre of the hole.

The Hologram Chamber measures 12.5cm in diameter, with the chamber hole having a diameter of 3.7cm.
